Overview

At NOTA Game Studio, Nguyen designed and built backend services for a game publishing platform that supported real-time operations, marketing workflows, and high-concurrency production traffic.

Role

Nguyen worked as a Software Engineer responsible for distributed backend architecture, low-latency microservices, deployment automation, and internal operations tooling.

Problem

The platform served 200K+ monthly active users and needed resilient real-time services, efficient marketing operations, and safe deployments to staging and production.

Solution

The backend used Fastify, PostgreSQL, and Redis for real-time game operations. Services were migrated toward AWS Lambda, API Gateway, and S3 where serverless architecture reduced infrastructure cost. GitLab CI/CD pipelines enabled automated zero-downtime deployments.

Outcome

The platform reduced infrastructure costs by 30%, achieved 90%+ unit test coverage, and improved marketing operations through an internal CMS and event management system with third-party integrations.
